Join us at the BES Ironweed Film Club as we continue to celebrate "Darwin Month" with a screening of "Darwin's Extra Sense".

About the film: Charles Darwin wrote that he wished he had worked harder at mathematics, so as to possess the "extra sense" that he felt mathematicians can bring to understanding the world. The new documentary, “Darwin's Extra Sense”, explores how twenty-first century mathematics is bringing an extra sense to the study of the life sciences. (45 min., Wendy Conquest, Bob Drake and Dan Rockmore)

Excellent overview of the power of mathematics in science, and the advances that have been and can be made.
