On August 24th, members from across the American Ethical Union will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, one of the most significant moments in US history. We will march with leaders of civil rights organizations and many passionate individuals from the Lincoln Memorial to the King Memorial.
As a partner with the National Action to Realize the Dream March and Rally, the AEU will celebrate the "I Have a Dream" speech Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered at the 1963 march and continue his work. Don't miss this opportunity to be a part of civil rights history and join in the effort to realize the dream! "This will not be just a nostalgia visit," said Rev. Al Sharpton, founder of the civil rights organization National Action Network. "It's a continuation of a call to action in a climate that is threatening to the achievements of the past 50 years."
The AEU group will meet by 9 AM at The Ellipse Park at 17th St. NW between D St. & E St, across the street from the American National Red Cross. For more information, email [masked] .
