Celebrate HumanLight with the Baltimore Coalition of Reason!

Please join us to celebrate HumanLight on Sunday, December 23rd. HumanLight is a celebration of the winter season conceived by the New Jersey Humanist Network as a humanist or secular alternative to traditional religious celebrations.  HumanLight features music and the lighting of three candles celebrating Reason, Compassion, and Hope. HumanLight was first celebrated in 2001 in New Jersey and has since spread throughout the country.  This year is the third celebration of HumanLight by the Baltimore Coalition of Reason.  To learn more, visit the HumanLight website at

http://www.HumanLight.org/  .

This year we are celebrating HumanLight at the Baltimore Ethical Society.  We will have a pot-luck dinner and desserts, music, and the candle lighting.  This is a family-friendly event, and children are welcome.

    Some photos from HumanLight: http://ppl.ug/NJSrnCVJgVQ/

Thanks to the Organic Family Band for great music! (They're featured in the first photo.) Thanks to the leaders of the Baltimore Coalition of Reason for their participation. Candles were lit by Bill Creasy (Baltimore Secular Humanists), Natalie Sokoloff (Baltimore Jewish Cultural Chavurah), Lucas McCahill (LGBTQ Humanist Council of Baltimore). Thanks to Hugh Taft-Morales (Baltimore Ethical Society) for his address titled "Light and Enlightenment", which addressed the metaphor of light in traditional celebrations of the season.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
