    Hi Peter,

Perhaps I may help answer your question. Quite often you will find multiple definitions for any given word. And that is the case with the word "religion." You have posted one definition (via Google). Here's one from the Wiki: "Religion is a collection of belief systems, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to spirituality and, sometimes, to moral values." Notice in that definition the absence of "God" or "supernatural," neither of which is necessary for spirituality. BES beliefs center on the intrinsic worth of all humans, which is the basis of the group's actions (deep above creed). Ethical Culture goes beyond philosophy as it can interact both on an intellectual and emotional level.

I'm but a new member myself. Many of the more seasoned members (especially the Board Members) can give you many more details to your questions.

Please note that the meeting is at 12:30 PM (not AM) and follows the 10:30 AM meeting and social. Hope to see you!
