Freeform Gaming

This meeting will be a freeform gaming event. Freeform Gaming meetings are open gaming events where everyone is welcome (and encouraged!) to bring along any games they would like to play. We always offer an introductory board game for new attendees (or for old veterans who've never played that game). If you bring a game, please be prepared to teach it to others, or make it clear up front if it will be a learning game for everyone. Rules lawyers and game-crappers should feel free to stay home.

To attend, all that we ask is that you review the Group Guidelines and please RSVP at least 24 hours in advance. If you are on the fence about coming, please let us know in your comments and confirm one way or the other as soon as you are sure.

Join or login to comment.

Once again, I had a great time. You definately have a really cool gaming group. I can honestly say this will be one of the few things I'll miss when I eventually head back for good (whenever that will be). If I'm extended for another week, I'll definately be there next Wednesday. If not, it's been fun!

Bring back what you want to bring back sir! =)
Illuminati has been played at BARE and is a centerpiece on 'cheaters' night', I've played a game called 'Stone Age', not sure if's the same game as 'Settlers of the Stone Age' and it's not a bad game either. Starfarers of Catan is pretty cool and I've played it BARE twice. Bang! is a fun, rather short role-based game that I've played before and Aaron brings from time to time. Bohnanza used to be fairly common, but not as much anymore.

HeroQuest is an oldie but goodie. The classic version is worth a pretty penny these days. I'd certainly be up for it at the very least for nostalgia purposes (I had a copy whose parts slowly dwindled over the years until I gifted the remainder to a friend to help him complete his set)

The ones I didn't name I haven't personally played, but folks at BARE are eager to play both games they've never played and games they have, so pick your favorites!

Ok, I'll be heading back to Cincy for the weekend. I've got one more gaming day in IL before I'm back in Cincy for good (maybe two if they extend me). Let me know what to bring back:
    1. I have tons of Cheap Ass games and a huge box of bits to play all of them. [Google "List of Cheap Ass Games"]. I have 1-3,9,11,13,14-18,20,24,25-29,31-33,35,36,41-43. I also have Falling and Brawl (6 decks) and quite a few expansions to various games.
    2. Dilbert the board game
    3. Illuminati
    4. Settlers of the Stone Age
    5. Starfarers of Catan
    6. Bang!
    7. Icehouse Zarcana
    8. Bohnanza (I also have Bonaparte expansion, but requires knowledge of how to play Bohnanza)
    9. HeroQuest and Advanced HeroQuest board games and Mutant Chronicals (kind of like HeroQuest in space)
    10. Warcraft the board game
    11. Spy vs Spy boardgame (quick, kid friendly)
    12. Chez Geek
    13. Victory (it's a hex based war game crossed with Stratego)
(I know I'm forgetting a ton as I'm not at home looking at my stash)
