The Golden Gamers: A 55+ Gaming Group

The Sellers Library in Upper Darby will be featuring a "Golden Gamers" group on November 20th from 1:00-3:00 PM. This group will be taught and hosted by me!

If you are 55+ and want to play, then you are welcome to attend!

If you are 55- I would like to see if anyone would be willing to come volunteer to help moderate, facilitate and play some of the featured games. I will be playing simple games this first time. Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan, Love Letter etc.

Even if you are not familiar with these games, your presence would still be very beneficial to this emerging group and I would be willing to play a few rounds with you before hand to get you on your feet.

If you are willing to help and play, RSVP as soon as possible. Put any questions or game suggestions in the comments!

Cheers,

John

i think Poison, Dixit, Qwirkle, Lost Cities the Board Game (I just got it), Word on the Street, Balderdash (or Beyond Balderdash) are good starter games.

Bonnie, if you are making it to the groups meeting today (Dec 11) would you care to bring Lost Cities?

I was already running late and now I have a cat throwing up all over the place. Sorry, I just can't make it.

Great! We played Bohnanza and Sushi Go! so it was a great primer to card-drafting and negotiation games. Next one is Dec 11th from 1-3 at Sellers Library.

Hopefully next time we will get a few board games to the table.

John, There's a stronger and stronger possibility I can attend on Weds. I just need to figure out a make-up session for one of my students and I am good to go!! Will keep you posted. What games are you bringing? I would like to learn rules ahead of time if possible...

I made one but had to make some corrections. I have a copy for you this week if you'd like it.

No, thanks, John. I have the info. I was just worried that you wouldn't get a good turn-out. The JCC near me tried something similar, and my father and I were the only people who showed up. They didn't advertise!

I've played Carcasonne once and haven't played the other two.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
