Play Board Games! Featuring Elfenland!

The game is set in the mythical world of the elves. A group of fledgling elves (the players) are charged with visiting as many of the twenty Elfencities as they can over the course of 4 rounds. To accomplish the task they will use various forms of transportation such as Giant Pigs, Elfcarts, Unicorns, Rafts, Magic Clouds, Trollwagons, and Dragons.

I enjoyed elfenland and pairs too. I would buy elfenland too if it ever comes down in price. I have good news Rosie showed me how to change my name from Carol to Mary. Yeah. If anyone sees a sale on euro board games again please post it if possible. I had so much fun. Josh thank you for teaching us Elfenland.

So, Elfenland took longer to play than expected. Thanks for hanging in there :). Pears was quite enjoyable. Simple and fun.

Thanks for teaching! After almost a year of organizing this group I learned that every new game will take 50% longer due to etching and AP. But it is awesome to learn and share some new games!

Both Elfenland and Pears were fun. I always look forward to trying something new, especially when someone is willing to teach. See you all at the pub!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I can be tough to find, but Amazon actually has some copies right now (a little pricey though). For reference, I got my copy for around $32 about 5 years ago.

Of course, I can always bring it again or let you borrow it if you'd like.

Just a reminder for everyone that next week will be at the Millers Ale House on Balt. Pike. If you gave some smaller games then please bring them. Gloom, Coup, Lifeboat, Skull and that sort of thing. I'll bring some card sleeves with me if you are concerned about damage and don't have any. First round is on me!

    Cheers!
    John.

I'm looking forward to Wednesday! I did two quick playthroughs this weekend to refresh my memory on the rules and remembered why I like this game.

Fans of Ticket to Ride (TtR) will recognize the designer of Elfenland. This is Alan Moon's first Spiel des Jahres winner (his next being TtR). Instead of having set routes like in TtR you build them as part of the round and then play cards to travel on them. Play time is 60mins according to the box and I'd say that's about right + 15mins of rules explanation should leave plenty of time for more games afterwards as well. It's a win win!

I may be able to pop into this meetup early! So, if that happens, I will be bringing "Once Upon a Fable" which I need to review. And maybe we can play it.

Fairy tale themed? I'm in. Plus I checked out some of the art, very pretty.
