Saturday Game Night

Our Saturday game night. We'll play various geeky board and card games. All attendees are welcome to bring games of their own, and we'll all decide what to play. If enough people are there to warrant it, we can split into two or more groups.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

- If more than 11 people show up, we will have problems with seating. If anyone can bring their own chair in that case, it would be appreciated.

- As always, one or more beagles may be in the house, so plan accordingly if you are allergic.

- While some refreshments MAY be on hand, for the most part, I ask people to bring stuff that they'd be willing to share. There's no requirement for this, but chipping in is always appreciated.

Just found the turn marker for Resistance on the floor, destroyed by Bugbear. That's fun. =P

Just ordered Trains. It's an area control deckbuilder where you have to play cards to build routes. It comes out next week.

Well remember that the components and artwork are different for this edition. AEG redid the whole thing, so who know what's still compatible.

I saw this on BGG and it looks kinda interesting. I'm definitely willing to try it. Brings back memories of Osaka street takoyaki! Oishii. . .

Is there any interest in playing Fortune & Glory one of these days?

I'm interested, but it's a long game right? I have a couple other things I have to play for review. Also, I would like to play 1812: Invasion of Canada maybe.

It's not super-long, but will need 3-4 hours including setup and some prep (AKA rules refresh) ahead of time. Also a lot of table space. It technically handles up to 8 players but IMO should probably be kept to 4 or at most 6 (in teams) until people have played a couple of times.

I haven't played 1812 yet, but it's very simple and I doubt would take more than 90 minutes or so. I'll tote it along Saturday night. From what I'm told, it really works best if we can get 5 players involved.

I also got that new Guns of Gettysburg game, which looks very interesting. I'm happy to bring it if anyone's curious.
