West U Tuesday Boardgames Meetup

We play a variety of boardgames, card games, and dice games every week. Come join the fun!

New people are always welcome. :)

The massive majority of players never RSVP on this site. You may only see a couple of RSVPs here but we tend to get at least a dozen people (normally more) showing up every week.

We normally play from around 5pm to 10pm, with people showing up and leaving through-out the evening, so come anytime!

*please do not bring food from home or other locations into Cafe Express*

I got there at 5:30pm and didn't notice anyone. Ordered some food and hung out for a while near the front. I waited about an hour and as I got up to leave noticed there was a back room area... Where the gamers were. Watched a couple of games, and then had the pleasure of introducing three gamers to Takenoko. I thought I had the game won until one of the players laid down his entire hand and blew me out of the water. Then I played another game of Takenoko with the 11 year old girl who kicked my butt at King of Tokyo last week. I beat her badly, and enjoyed it, lol! Then played an interesting game called Zooloretto (Mini). My first impression was that it was a simple grade school zoo themed game, but there was a very strategic layer to the game
That I quite enjoyed. Next thing I know it's 10:30pm, lol! Had great time, looking forward to next Tuesday.

I'm bringing Takenoko! (aka The Giant Panda and the Gardener) http://us.asmodee.com/photos/b815c308833680dba446/1316546006663_48634036/1316546006663_48634036.jpg The players take the role of courtesans of the Nippon emperor and take on the role of caring for his Giant Panda by growing a bamboo plantation.

Their mission: to farm parcels of land, irrigate them, and grow green, yellow or pink bamboo. In turn, they see what the weather brings and perform two actions from among those offered to them: get a new plot of land or irrigation channel, grow bamboo, feed the panda or draw an objective card.

The game ends when a player has completed 7 to 9 objectives (depending on the number of players). The player who gets the best score by adding the total value of their completed objective wins the game.

    Video overview here.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
