Atlanta Boardgame Saturday Meetup

This event has been moved ahead a week so it won't conflict with the Atlanta Game Fest. A gathering of 25-50 folks to play the world's best boardgames. All are welcome. The Atlanta Board & Card Game Meetup Group meets the second Wednesday and last Saturday each month. There will be games available for play and the Loop serves food and has drinks, beer and wine, so you really don't need to bring anything. If you have something you want to play you are welcome to do so. We get a good group of folks of all ages. If you are a woman wondering where all the nice single men with good jobs are, they come and play boardgames. I'm not kidding, ask my wife. There's a enclosed section reserved for us and we can use the tables in the main part as well, so we've plenty of space. We will play until closing at 10pm on Wednesdays and 11pm on Saturdays, so even if you can't make it at the start time, feel free to drop by. We generally play shorter games to start, so late-comers don't have to wait too long to get into a game. If this is your first meetup with us, this may be a more organic group than other meetups you have been to. There may not be someone to approach and welcome you when you come in. If everyone is playing a game then it is possible nobody would greet you right away. The folks there are social and friendly, but are really there to play games. If you wander up to any table and say "hi" folks will greet you and be happy to clue you in on what they are playing and help you get into the next available game. Once folks are not in the middle of a game, they generally will be happy to include whoever is looking for a game at that time.

Even though we do not get to come often, we always have a good time at the Boardgame Meetup. It is hard to join other people, though, since many people already come in a group or know other people there and start playing their favorites. It is also a little different than most Meetup groups because there is no one there that actually greets you or talks to you from the group, which is the only thing I would change about it. Overall, a fun group of people having a good time.
