Re: [boardgames-35] light hearted games

Hello Miranda, Heather, and everyone else who has responded in this thread:

Please count me in. I love the lighter, more talk & laugh-y type games. Plus, I tend to come to the meetups straight from work where they have fried my brain for the evening. :)  If you decide to do an outside-the-loop meetup, please let know. I'm another of those in-towners.

Wow; we must not have crossed paths yet Miranda :) (or we may have, but I'm awful with names!). I come with my fiance, Paul, from the southside when we can. We usually make it to at least one of the regular meetups each month at the Loop. Paul loves the "heavier" games, but by that time in the evening and after working, I'm usually ready for the lighter games, like you.  The first game I purchased on my own was Munchkin -my kids and I love it. We also have some other good, fairly short and light games. Look for me at the next meetup; if I'm there I'll be the one groaning, "Please, not Power Grid..." ;).

Subject: [boardgames-35] light hearted games

Hey everyone.... I've been attending the Wednesday and Saturday meetups for a while now, and I love them, but I can't help but notice, that not that many people want to play my "sillier games" with me.  I've loved the strategy games I've played and always love finding new boardgames I never knew existed (I now love Ticket to Ride, San Juan and Ingenious), but I also would like to find some people to play the other games that I like: Munchkin, Zombies, Last Night on Earth, Arkham Horror, Cash and Guns, Fluxx, Gloom, Let's Kill.... and lots others that I'm sure are out there...  Anyone have any suggestions?  Could we have a special night on a non Wed/Sat for more light-hearted games?  Are there people out there who are interested who might want to meet up outside the official group?  Find a new venue, perhaps in town? I'm fishing for ideas here, since these games I love are currently gathering dust on my shelf....

- Miranda
