We're the The Columbus Boardgaming & Pan-Philosophical Debate Society. We generally meet on Tuesdays nights and most Saturday afternoons. We call our Tuesday night meetings "Titular Tuesdays Boardgaming." We gave ourselves that name because not only do we enjoy playing boardgames, but we enjoy discussing just about any topic! Our Saturday meetings are more laid-back and are therefore dubbed "Sanguine Saturdays."
Anyone is welcome to join our group with only two criteria.
- You have a love for playing games, but you don't take the winning very seriously.
- You have a great sense humor and desire to laugh more!
We're a very diverse group. Some of our members are coupled to each other and some of them are coupled to people who are not members. Many other members are single. Some of our members voted the first time for Jimmy Carter/Bob Dole and others were born after Jimmy Carter became the figurehead for Habitat for Humanity.
We play a wide, wide assortment of games. We play strategy games, board games, card games, dice games and any combination of those. When Andy Luck started the group, play was mostly Settlers of Cataan
. And yes, we sometimes still do play Settlers, but now you never know what's coming across the table next. The following is merely a sampling of what has been played ("including but not limited to"):
- Dominion, Dominion Masquerade, Dominion Seaside
- Say Anything
- Wits & Wagers
- Power Grid
- Family Business
- Settlers of Cataan <- and many of its variants
