Two Player Games

Some games need a large group.  Some games need a small group.  This week we will play games where just two players are needed -- mano a mano.  These can include shorter games of 20-30 minutes, allowing you to try out three or four games against different people or the same person.   This can also include a longer game that could run for an hour or even two.

I will bring a copy of the following games -- Battleship (travel edition), Mancala, Backgammon, Chess, Checkers, Roman Chess, Othello.  Feel free to bring another copy of any of these games if you have it or a copy of another two player game if you would like.

As always, please remember to bring your $2 contribution to tip the Caribou staff for their help and to pay the costs.  Also, rsvps for this event will close at 4:30 PM on Wednesday November 14.  Please try, if at all possible, to show up for the event if you rsvp yes or cancel by 4:30 PM to give people on the waiting list a fair chance.

Hope to see you then.

I'm thinking of a pen and paper word guess game that I play with my sister. It's mashup of Hangman and "Lingo" from the Game Show Network. Each person thinks up a 5-letter secret word with no repeating letters, and the other person tries to guess their opponent's word by writing down a 5-letter guess word with no repeating letters. In reply, they get 2 numbers written under their guess word. The first number is how many letters in the guess word are in the secret word, the second number is how many letters from the guess word are in the same location as in the secret word. Using logical deduction and strategic guess words, it's a race to see who can figure out the other person's secret word first.

It could include games that are for 2 or more players.

Do they have to be games that can ONLY be played by 2 people, or is it okay to play a "2 or more players" game with 2 people?

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
