Board Game Convention in Niagara Falls Canada?

1) Does anybody know anything about a board game convention from the 28-29th of January in Niagara Falls Canada?

2) The weekend is the only time I really have off. Weeknights will go too late for me to get into a decent game. Are there ever meetups on the weekends?

Here is the folder on CSW, in case you haven't found it yet.

We have an all-day meetup the first Saturday of every month. It's called Bacsim.

I suppose I'm overdue to advertise Niagara BoardGaming Weekend.

Details:

January 26th through January 29th at the Ramada Plaza on Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

1 day pass $20. Weekend $35. 3 day $40. 4 days $45.

This is back at the old hotel, which was sold to entirely new management and has been completely remodeled. The con is basically up to 4 days of open gaming. Most people just show up and game, although some pre-arrange games through the Consimworld forum I'll list below. We should get somewhere between 80 and 90 people over the course of the con (possibly as many as 100 one of these years), and is a hell of a lot of fun. You'll see damned near any boardgame being played over the course of the con, and *someone* will have nearly any game you're looking for. The doors open around 8:30 every morning, and play continues till after 3 am most days. Some people stay at the hotel, and others commute back and forth. It's a damned good time.

Con website: NBW

Consimworld forum: NBW forum

Please feel free to ask me any questions.

Hey,

So who is going this year and what days will you be there?
I plan to go but am not sure if I what combination of days I will be there for. I am leaning toward Friday/Saturday.

Im going to be there fri-sun. Perhaps even during the day on Fri.

Mark I would really like to play runewars again, this may be a good place to do it. I would love to schedule a time to get this together.

Merchant of Venus is another one I want to try to get to the table on this weekend. I am also hoping Rob will show me one of the big splotter's Roads and Boats or Antiquity. I also am hoping someone has Trajan and Eclipse so I can try those, Oh and fit in some Age of Steam too, thats my hopes and dreams for the weekend.

Ryan, there's a Rochester guy who's organized at least 1 game of Eclipse already over on CSW, I'm sure there will be more. I'll bring my copy along. While I might be too wrapped up in other things to actually play it, you're welcome to use it and roust a game up if you'd like.

In other news, Art's asking folks who are attending to please try to register by the end of the week. It's not a deadline per se, but this will give him a chance to make up a custom name badge for you.

Also, he says that the hotel's con rate ($55/night) has been extended until the end of the week.

Ok, I will do all day Fri and Sat and would be interested in both Runewars (need to protect my title) and Merchant of Venus. I haven't played Merchant in at least a decade and would love to see if it holds up.

It does. We played it at Montreal last year.

Thanks Bob I may just read up on the rules and take you up on your offer. :)
