I have the game "Game of Thrones but when I look it up on BGG it says
and shows a card game. Mine looks like a board game. Does anyone know the differences

There's a board game - A Game of Thrones.

Then Fantasy Flight came out with a Living Card Game (LCG) by the same name.

The board game came first, then there was a Collectible Card Game (CCG) that was made. The Living Card Game is an outgrowth of the CCG.

A simplified explanation of the difference between a CCG and an LCG is:

CCG - a game where you customize your own deck to play, where the cards you buy come in packs that are randomized, you don't know what specific cards will be in a given pack.

LCG - also a customizable deck building game, but when you buy a pack, the cards are fixed, so you always know what you are buying. Many people like that it takes away the randomness and you don't have the problem of buying a bunch of packs to chase down powerful cards, or having to pay a premium to buy the singles.

All of the games are based on a series of books by George R. R. Martin called A Song of Ice and Fire.

A Game of Thrones is the name of the first novel in the series.

Thanks Andy

So I hope the board game is not like "Magic the gathering".
I just thought it was a Euro board game.
Thanks for the break down of the two games.
I have the game but could not find it in BGG ( just the card game )
and no video to show how the board game is played.

The board game is not anything like Magic.

If you click on the name "A Game of Thrones" in my previous post, it'll take you to the board game's BGG page.

EDIT: Here you go http://www.boardgameg...

Andy, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.
