Ticket to Ride Tournament

Tournament will exist in 3 qualifying rounds, a semi-final, and a final round.  Each round will be played on a different Ticket to Ride Map:

  • Round 1: USA - 1910 Mega
  • Round 2: Europe - 1912 Mega
  • Round 3: Marklin
  • Semi Final: Legendary Asia
  • Final: Heart of Africa

Seating will be randomly determined each round, and a modified Swiss ranking system will be used.  This is the same system that has been used in previous GameCon Memphis tournaments.

Amazon.com gift cards will be awarded as prizes to first and second place.  The gift card amounts will be determined by the number of participants who have RSVP'd.

Entry Fee is $5.  Payable at time of RSVP.  Must RSVP on Meetup to reserve spot in tournament.  Otherwise, participants will be on standby until the tournament begins.  Standby participants will pay at time of tournament.

If more than 16 people RSVP, then participant numbers may be extended once 20 have been reached.  Organizer (Clayton) will play only if needed to fill the roster, i.e. only 11 or 15 people have signed up for the tournament.

Loved it!I would do any game tourney in the future too! The $5 entry was extremely fair. See y'all this weekend.

Please arrive 15 minutes early. If you are wanting to play, but haven't RSVP'd, then if someone doesn't show up, a spot will be made available ($5 entry fee still required). Priority given to those who arrive first. Also, if there are 4 people on standby, then the qualifying rounds can turn into 5 player games.

Question, how many hours do you think all the rounds will take?

    June 7, 2013

    • Clayton

1 hour each. Maybe not even that. People tend to play faster and stay on task during tournaments. Come on out. I'd love to see you complete the line up.

I suppose I'll need to learn the rules for several I've never played....how many versions and rounds fit into a Friday evening? And to think I squandered last Friday night having great fun strengthening Camelot and running factories instead of riding the rails round the world.

I guess y'all will need fodder to trample on. I have only played that game once, or would you rather I stay far far away?

You can also visit the Days of Wonder website & play 4 trial games for free on the North American map.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
