Has anyone else had the "grayed out" newsletter page come up yet?? This started just recently and it keeps me from getting to my meetup pages. It wants me to make a selection, but the whole page is grayed out and you cannot interact with it.
I tried both firefox and explorer and both run into the crash. I would post a picture but I could not get it to paste here. Any help is appreciated. |

Elder,
This is what Lucette posted to an earlier issue that seems similar to what you are saying. I would try this route first. I hope it corrects it! ![]() Sweet! |

Elder Norm,
Try clearing your cache (i.e. in Firefox click - Edit ... Preferences ... Advanced ... Network), and then restart your browser ... that usually takes care of the problem. ~ Pamela |

I am not happy at all with the Promote Your Meetup shop on the side. As I stated here I have spent a lot of time creating a logo for my group and now what? I could not agree more....the last time I tried to bring this up I was virtually attacked on the boards for asking for another color to choose from when it came the BRIGHT fire engine red logo that I needed to add to my website and my myspace page..... and when you say "assumption", you couldn't be more on the mark. The meetup logo looks TOO generic and too abrupt when trying to incoporate it into other screen venues let alone my groups t-shirts (am working on jackets now) and I had asked about having two colors ... one to "flag" with and one to "sign" with (navy blue?)...but of course I was quickly slapped down for asking and my website was termed as "sparkly"....You would think that for 180.00 dollars a year (more than what my website costs) would include asking members about options. My cycling group has events, not meetings. Please let us choose what we wish to call our meetups.
On the following page: Personalize your Meetup's Details Under this item: What are members called? Should be added something like this: What are your meetups called?

My cycling group has events, not meetings. Please let us choose what we wish to call our meetups.Arbitrarily calling them events will upset those who are now happy to call them meetings, calling them anything at all will now upset some. Meetup once more stirred up a hornets nest by simply making random changes without consultation with the users. (I don't care if you asked half a dozen chosen people, you never asked any of the people who are objecting, your users.) Now that the hornets are upset, the only thing to do is to allow them to choose their own designation for their events/meetups/meetings. Please, please, stop your 'ideas people' messing with the platform just for the hell of it. If you have what looks like a great idea, run it by US, the users first, we may think it stinks, or we may really like it. You have certainly proved for a long time that you don't know best, and can't successfully second guess us. Time was wasted doing this that could have been put to productive use. This may not have been a dramatic upset, but it IS another papercut in the 'death by 1000 papercuts' that we are suffering at the hands of Meetup. I suggest that when the new choice is allowed, it be defaulted to Meetups, as this is the only default designation that makes any sense on this platform. Personally, I would then change it to Games, as that would be what the vast majority of my group's events are in fact. Others of course would want Hikes, Playdays, Walkies, Tournaments, and a host of other designations. Len |
