Sorry, but I still think is stupid to rate people's comments. It's like living vicariously through others. If people have something to say, they should come out to the events and post their own comments.
I took down the comments from the welcome page and I will keep it like that until a better fix will be found. At least, give the organizer the option to turn on/off the comments rating!!!! |

I agree please remove that new feature for all the reasons people said above.
I would love a feature that allows us to click on a members name and see all the upcoming events that they have RSVP'd YES to. Thank you!! Judith |

Ok, we've launched the changes. Let me know what you think: i agree with Rachel, thanks for getting the clutter off the home page. but i still wish the comments rotated more frequently. |

It's not a huge problem, but the quotes on the Welcome page don't rotate anymore. It's always the same 2 quotes for the last 100 page loads. Good thing for me is they are good quotes!

It's not a huge problem, but the quotes on the Welcome page don't rotate anymore. It's always the same 2 quotes for the last 100 page loads. Good thing for me is they are good quotes! The voting now dictates which ones appear on the home page, but they are still randomized as a second filter. So, if there are two quotes with the most votes (let's say 10 and 9 votes respectively), these will always appear. But if there are no votes, or multiple quotes with the most votes, it still randomizes (say, 20 quotes with 1 vote each.) As I read that back, it sounds confusing. Hope it makes sense. |

It's not a huge problem, but the quotes on the Welcome page don't rotate anymore. It's always the same 2 quotes for the last 100 page loads. Good thing for me is they are good quotes! I understand what you're saying, Jesse, but I'm seeing the same thing as Eric. My quotes are not being randomized. I have at least 20 quotes that have the same number of votes (3) and yet, the same two quotes are showing up. I reloaded the page a number of times and also logged in and out several times. I have even logged in using my son's and daughter's IDs and the same quotes appear. Not that this is a major problem. The quotes are good. But there are many good quotes from group members, so it would be nice to see everyone's comments pop up from time to time. By the way, this is not a popular feature. Almost all quotes have the same three votes that were there last week, despite the fact that I have hundreds of active members. No one has voted on the comments except me and my asst. organizers. We voted for all the really good comments and ignored the weaker ones, so in theory, about 20 great comments should be rotating on the home page. (I'm pointing this out, not to complain that no one is voting, but to indicate that this is not a feature that my members are interested in participating in.) |

Same here. Everything Lori said also applies to my main group.

Perhaps somebody's already mentioned this, but is there any way WE, the organizers, can vote on which ideas we most want implemented on Meetup?
That way, the most desirable ideas will bubble to the top - sort of like the comments thingy :-). Sometimes I feel like the features are added to satisfy a programmer's coding itch rather than making the user experience more fruitful. Just my two cents (which are worth less and less every day). |

Well said Anand! I have been feeling like this for the past couple of 'upgrades'. It seems that every day I log on, I am having to relearn how to use the site. I wish I could just do a 'system restore' and set the clock back to a less confusing version of the site and 'freeze it' there for a while! |
