Thanks for responding Jesse.
Here's a thought...they want to keep changing things so how about making a change that would make things easier. First thing that comes to mind is the calendar...instead of having to constantly hit 'later' to go further in the year, which I just had to do a bizzillion times because everytime I added a kiddies B-Day, say all the way in September, when I was done it switched back to March and I had to hit 'later' again and again to go to Oct, Nov, you get the point. Anyway, why can't there be a drop down calendar to take us right where we want to go. Why must things be so difficult and why must 'what works' be changed. |

I agree--please bring back the comments sections after each event--it is helpful to determine how members felt about a particular event. I have no feedback now regarding events. These comments also attract new members--No comment at all looks "negative"--thanks for considering the return of comments.

Maybe we should all start calling meetup. If we, along with our AOs and core members, start inundating their office with calls, they'll take notice pretty quick. Anyone have their number?

Do Meetup people read or respond regularly to this forum? I've seen some comments from them but it seems like this issue of the comments is being ignored. I'm a newbie with one year as an organizer and I now see this trend as well. When meetup changed it so that rsvp comments were all jumbled together in the 'new talk about this event' feature. Everyone went wild just as they are over this 'delete event comments from the survey' change. Although all the same organizers are complaining here that were complaining then...nothing is being done. Back on the rsvp mess, a few choice organizers must have been in the mix. I was doing backflips when they reversed that upgrade. They do listen to us. I was so excited to have my event rsvp's back to normal. But it's becoming obvious that it wasn't us they were listening to at all, and whomever it was that had the influence before are apparently not getting involved this time. Extremely discouraging. |

Yow! Now I'm getting worried! Looks like lots of concerns about the comments being left off by members, but wading through all of these POSTS, it doesn't look like anyone at meetup has said anything about doing anything about it! Maybe I missed something, but I would think that with as many posts that have been made about this, that Meet up would do something about it soon. Most of us (organizers) have found out what works to keep members coming back, and COMMENTS was one way to do it!! Make our lives EASIER again!

I just wish I knew the logic of putting a comment about an event on the "About Us" page. Why would someone be clicking on the "About Us" page if they want to know about a past event? What's the rationale? An explanation would be nice.
And I wish I knew if there was ever a time when I could comment on an event *before* it happened. Meetup staff keeps selling this "Now you can talk about an event afterwards," like there was a rash of members commenting on events *beforehand*, and they had to implement the upgrade to prevent that from happening or what...? |

Hey Brian,
They are referring to the 'talk about this meetup' that was part of last big upgrade. You could put a comment in your rsvp and you could also have a conversation with each other at the bottom of the event page. I can see where the meetup staff was headed with their newest idea. They want the event comments to show up in this discussion area now. But taking the option out of the survey and now expecting our members to take a survey and then go to the past event page to leave a comment about the event. It's not going to happen. It's much too much work. But I'm all for if they want to have the event comments put down in that 'talk about this event' area, that way a discussion could take place if one so chooses...but the member needs to be able to leave that comment in their survey. I think the change meetup should have done is leave the event comment in the survey, but instead of having it replace the rsvp comment on the past event..instead have the event comment placed down in the discussion area. Sounds like a good compromise to me? |

Eliminating the members comments after the event is just another DOWNGRADE, like many other cases we have seen lately. Another downgrade is eliminating the estimate of members who attended. I had 70 people attending to my event last night, how do I get to that number now? I have to indicate 1 by 1 who didnīt attend in the RSVP list, to get down to 70!! ridiculous
Please restore the members comments!!! Nestor The New York Spanish Language Meetup |

My first post here. Hello everyone!
Just to put in my two cents ( might be short a penny ) - this new comment system just creates more problems and offers me as an organizer nothing but one more useless (to me) and confusing to my members feature. Or, a loss of an OK feature. I guess I am a lucky one? as I did receive a survey via email. Lots of questions about collecting dues and some service that I had never heard of. I pay my groups meetup fees our membership is free. Wow, so glad I was asked about that one! Meetup offers something that works for me. But sometimes the upgrades just make me shake my head and wonder what the end goal is? Now improvements/features I could use would be the ability to set what each assistant organizer had access to and an easier to navigate calendar . ... Just wanted to let anyone who reads this to know that some of us just run our groups and remain silent here . ... have enough drama with my own group But this new change is really annoying and confusing.
