really missing the after event comments... gotta tell you this is making the job of organizing quite difficult for the organizers who really rely on the tools we were used to having at our disposable...

bring them back.. quick!confusedangry

OK, so the post meetup discussion is fine. I think it would be better if you utilized the e-mailed request for comments and have that text box linked to the post discussion box or the member rsvp list like previous to the upgrade. Not only are members used to posting comments through the e-mail review but I think we are facilitating the group better that way.

The comment about keeping opinions confidential...those individuals who do not want theire comments seen by others can contact the organizers individually through e-mail or even a telephone call and express their concerns. Individuals also feel important that the group see their constructive criticism.

Thx David

Agree with David and others complaining about the new rating system. The new "upgraded" system gives the organizers very little feedback about the event; please bring back the original rating system where members could post feedback about the event with the event rating.

I also preferred the old way of handling comments over the "upgraded" rating system.

I am glad that they no longer have the members estimate the number of people that attended the event though! When I was a new member for a couple of different playgroups, I had a tough time knowing how many people belonged with our group as opposed to non-members that just happened to also be at the community centers and/or parks.

Amen.
As a person that attends many meetup groups, I really hope that meetup.com reconsiders bringing back the rating system. It was what made the system authentic. If people can't look at group events and get an honest gauge of what goes on, then they will stop taking as many chances at going to events. Meetup.com already has some scammers trying to sell you stuff at events (instead of actually doing what was listed) - the comment section helps avoid this. Don't make this yet another haven for scammers trying to sell you stuff. There are too many good meetups here that will hurt from that.

I SO MISS MY EVENT RATINGS AND COMMENTS! confused

Member feedback was incredibly valuable and without these (since members aren't even given the option to do so in the surveys), I may as well put a big question mark in the air to try to figure out which events were successful and which weren't. How disappointing.

Meetup.com folks....PLEASE LISTEN TO US..PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GIVE US BACK THE SURVEY AND COMMENT FEATURES THE WAY THE WERE. ...THANKS!

Meetup staffers, looks like the tribe is getting restless. How about letting us know your thoughts and intentions. One of the main reasons I've not switched over to a free yahoo or google group is the feedback I get from my members. There's really not much reason to stay without it.

I completely agree! My 6-month payment to Meetup will be due soon and I hope they don't think that I won't take this negative experience into consideration when I decide whether or not to renew. There are other places out there I can go with my group. The feedback was one of the things that kept me here.

Hey everyone,

We have been reading this thread and paying attention. I wanted to give a quick response. I've brought the issue back up here to put the event question back in the post-Meetup survey, so we will see how that goes. I don't have any more details to give now, but we will keep you posted.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to re-post what Jesse wrote the other day. Meetup is listening. smile

What I hope is a good sign is the first two weekly upgrades were both released on Tuesdays. If the fact that yesterday passed along with today and a third update wasn't forced upon us means anything...I'm hoping that it means they have shelved this week's upgrade until they get their 'ooops' fixed from the first two. I'm afraid if they do it three weeks in a row, they really will see a lot organizers taking their groups to other places.

Have my fingers crossed that they are brewing in the boiler room right now on how to change the 'rate the comments (week 1)' and 'event comments (week 2) back to something that will make both sides happy.

Tick Tock.......
