You know, instead of needlessly complaining about it, you could edit your event and change what it's called. That's what I've done these past 2 months. It sets it as the "March Meeting", I change it to the "March Meetup". Pretty simple, IMO. xD

This great pearl of wisdom only applies if your group has a regular schedule - which mine doesn't! Therefore all my events are mislabeled as meetings.

I agree with the above posts. If there will be confusion between the terms, why not stay with the term event? It seems to cover more territory for the types of meetups we see on the site.

Also, when I rate an EVENT smile I can't tell what I thought of it, I can only tell what i think of my group. Is there a reason this was changed? There is no way to make a comment about what I thought of the EVENT specifically.

It's to encourage the use of the comments section on the event page.

It's not needlessly complaining, as the younger, less mature have stated. It's about setting the proper tone. Changing the title to 'meetup' doesn't change all the other places it's mislabeled as a meeting.

Sixty motorcycles going down the highway is not a meeting ... please fix this! I was perfectly happy with calling it a meetup, I can't recall anyone in my group being confused about the difference between going to Meetup the site and going to meetup events.

I like the cleaner page, but when members rate an event, there should be a place right there for them to post a comment about the meetup. This forces an extra step to place comments about the meetup.

My meetups are about the meetup, not the venue. We meet at gas stations, and then go for motorycle rides, often stopping at a restaurant that is only listed in the meetup description. It's the journey and the restaurant that needs feedback, not the gas station.

I think this change will result in fewer comments, and make it more difficult for the organizer to get feedback about an event.

Love the new survey, and the entire past event experience now!! I also think the rotating logo is cute. Good release this week!

So, meetup had no idea that you ALSO find the change something worth altering every single time. Until you said so here.

Despite your negative comment on the protestation of someone else, your voice has now been heard in protest too. This could have been done without telling someone else they were needlessly complaining. If no one complains meetup will never know they did wrong. I do not see their post as needless at all.

I don't like this change at all. I only want people who attended & filled out the survey to comment on a past meetup.

Does this mean that anyone can comment on past meetups?

Not only can non-attendees now comment on past 'meetings', but they can even comment on past cancelled 'meetings' that never happened.shock

On the plus side, The organiser can now delete comments.cool

~I love the changing (Meetup) logo at the top.
~The issue about Meetups being called (Meetings) like mentioned earlier, is a missed opportunity to brand the (Meetup) name. I would not think twice about changing it back to (Meetup).

Also as mentioned, yes, we can change (Meeting) to (Meetup), but I dont know about you, but we Organizers need time saving features, not more things where we have to go in and change!

last thing....a selfish request here....PLEASE move the (Add a Reply) from the bottom of the page, back to the top next to (Start a New Discussion). ..pleaseplease!!!

Our next upgrade will go out Tuesday and will include the following:[quote[

Past meeting page update

We've updated the past meeting page so that you and your members can share your memories and experiences after the meeting happens! The look of the page has been refreshed and you will now be able to add photos and post comments on each and every past meeting page. Organizers will still be able to take attendance, and organizers and members will still be able to rate each meeting.

Rotating logo & bug fixes

The Meetup logo that appears in the top left corner of the Meetup.com site will rotate on each page load. And we made a bunch of behind-the-scenes bug fixes.

Till next time!

OK, perhaps not enough coffee for me yet, but I have been to past events in each of my groups. I see the place to post comments, and the attendence feature, and the deletable comment thing. But I saw nothing about rating.... would someone smart please stick a finger on the screen where that 'new' feature is?

the changing Meetup writing.... meh. fluff.
but furthering Medina's comment... I would love a Back to Top link at the bottom of the page, along with the previously requested Next/Previous Thread link.
