Not only can non-attendees now comment on past 'meetings', but they can even comment on past cancelled 'meetings' that never happened.I tested it in another group & I was able to leave a comment on a meetup I never attended. This needs to be changed. This feature is just asking to be abused by problem members who never attended past meetups. Although, as Len pointed out, I could delete the comments, how on earth am I supposed to monitor that? Do I have to go back to each one & enable email notification for comments? This was a bad idea. |

omg i just saw tthe past event page.........
I LOVE IT!! just what i was thinking!!!! thank you!! as for commenting post-event, as long as the event is only commentable by members of your group, what's the big deal? if people do abuse the feature, remove them from the meetup. i think it encourages a little more in the way of post-event camraderie and is a fun way to encourage folks to go back and rate. folks that use the feature for good will far outnumber the evil ones....although i have to admit, both of those groups combined will probably be rendered insignificant compared to the number of people who don't even bother..... thanks also for including the number of people who have rated right next to the stars.....super easy to see whether you have just a few people who haven't rated yet or a whole bunch. i haven't seen the survey yet, but i'll get there in a few weeks LOL. also i love that the meetup logo rotates. i remember this from awhile back and figured it was just a bug that it was stuck on the same font LOL. really fun. thanks again! edit: okay i said i "loved" it....just added a new post that said i "really really like it" because i hadn't used it enough to say "love". the secret is out LOL. |

I believe that the way the event page is now designed was specifically picked based on survey's we all took last year some time. I was wondering when the change was going to be done and I think it's great. I do think though that we as orgs now need to explain how exactly to use it though.

I see another change that I don't like...
I use "Talk About This Meeting" to post comments on an upcoming meeting because they stand-out from my RSVP for the event. I usually use these for last minute updates that I want to be sure everyone will see. Problem is... now I can't delete them! Sometimes things change and I don't want to force my folks to wade through misinformation. Put this feature back... pretty please? |

Really not liking a few upgraded features....
One of my AO's has the duty of tracking all no-shows. With the change in the survey, this is making it harder for her to do. All she would have to do before is look to see who filled in the comment area because we ask all members to fill out the survey after each event. Well now any member can leave a comment about an event.. this is not necessary and can be very confusing as to who was exactly at the event. Another thing is the comments where members would leave feedback on the location where the event was held. It's not there anymore! This was a HUGE help for us when planning future events because we could see what people liked or disliked about the location. Also, I don't think the edit attendance feature is working up to it's full potential. For our events, there isn't an Organizer at every single one. When there isn't an Organizer there, we don't get an "estimated attendance" so this also makes it harder for us to tell who was actually there - then we have to contact whoever hosted that day to find out who was there. Then, (say everyone attend) and we try to go in and edit attendance - basically keeping it the same as it is since everyone was there and click submit, the estimated attendance number still does not come up. It only comes up if we mark someone absent or mark someone attended. Another one of my AO's looks at this for tracking member inactivity. Is there a way to make the edit attendance feature work better for us? I know I'm just one voice but these few newer changes are just adding an extra step for me and my AO's to do on top of everything else we do for our group and it would be much appreciated to receive a response or even better.. to make some changes back to what they were or improve on what is now. Thank you, Jenn |

Bug Report:
I have a Private Meetup, and have to approve memberships for Pending Members. After approving a new Pending Member, the Pending Member excalmation remains on the left sidebar, and the Pending Member's Application is still there. All this weirdness disappears when I close Internet Explorer and them reopen IE and reload my site. |

Bug Report: That will be an IE issue. Not a bug as such, but the way you have IE configured (By design or accident) it is not refreshing properly, and simply using a copy of the page it already has in temporary internet files. This makes browsing faster, but risks not getting the correct new data. Use a Control-F5 keypress to force a proper refresh and it will be fine. Len |

The email code doesn't work. I get the code and copy paste it and it says error. Did it 10 times. letters are very difficult to read. I still haven't been able to send an email get rid of it. I have 2 events that I need to send out email for and can't contact them. I never had a problem with spam with meet-up. Very pissed!

I like the cleaner page, but when members rate an event, there should be a place right there for them to post a comment about the meetup. This forces an extra step to place comments about the meetup. Hear hear. |

I am with you on this one. We meet at subway stations for carpooling. So it's silly to rate them. People should rate the event first, then the group and/or the venue. It's the success of the event that influences the latter. |
