Hello everyone,

Share your thoughts about the "sneak peek" you read about on the Meetup Blog.

(Blog? What blog?)

Thanks,
Maya

This seems to be the biggest change in Meetup's programming since Organizers had to start paying monthly fees four years ago, but of course it's much more appreciated. This update is by far the best in Meetup's history, with each change well thought out. We'll be patient when the inevitable minor glitches turn up, confident that the Meetup staff is now actually acting on all the feedback we submit. Kudos to all the developers. Thanks for all the hard work.

I sent the link to my group, so they would have a heads up. There's a belief around this area that I actually own Meetup.com, so I want them to be aware that I didn't make the changes to the site. biggrin

Still Missing - A personal calendar with ALL my meetups in one place from all my groups.

Most people I see here belong to multiple groups - and it is a pain to have to go back and forth among groups.

It would be much easier with one personal calendar - better yet - let me choose which of my groups go into the calendar - even better yet - let me choose different calendars of different topics and different groups in each one - one for dining, one for singles, etc. etc.

Now THAT would make my day!!

Hey Lou - we took a small step in that direction with a list of ALL your Meetups on your new Member Home Page. The features you mention sound awesome and are definitely on our radar.

These are exciting changes!

Just one thing...

On some of the screenshots in the blog announcement, the background/wallpaper color looked
industrial grey.

BLECK!

Could it not be so prison-like? confused

Could we maybe pick our own color?

This update looks good, but I would trade it all for a "waiting list" feature.

Hi Dave:

This update looks good, but I would trade it all for a "waiting list" feature.

Please post new feature requests in the Suggestions Forum directly. We're here to field comments about the "sneak peek".

Much appreciated!

Hi there,

As soon as we release all these updates, waiting lists is at the top of the list of things we'll be working on next. Hang tight!

Thanks,
Maya

Lou, you can take care of this now.
I believe in best of class services - it's hard to beat Google Calendar, 30Boxes and Airset for online calendaring, sync to phones, sync to outlook, etc.
There is no way Meetup can/wants to compete with them to do a 'better calendar'.

But each calendar offers an RSS feed at the bottom.
Go create a calendar at your favorite service (your choice, yahoo, ms live, all those also work - my fave is google)

Grab the ical or rss feed of the calendar
Then add each one to your web calendar.

Now you have an aggregate of all your meetup calendars in one place, all in different colors.
The nice thing is you can add your own stuff, personal, family, business, your local pub calendar for soccer games, etc.

Have fun!
