Love the new uploader!

Why was the next and previous button removed? How do you navigate from pic to pic? Am I missing something?

I like the limit increased from 10 photos to 50 photos uploaded at a time.

But not all changes are good!

Doubling the size of the default view of the photo in your group's photo section might be nice for some. But for those that are on dial up it is worthless. I know that the idea is to have a positive benefit to most of the members but when it becomes impossible for the minority to enjoy, it should not be changed. I have a friend that can not look at the pictures any more. We were talking on the phone and she said that it said so many images to load and then the number went down so slowly that she finally gave up. I do not see an over all benefit since you could click on the picture before and see it larger. At least EVERYONE could view them.

Please make sure that no one gets left out when you make so called improvements! Can this be changed so that ALL members can view the group photos.

Would like to see the albums with the ability to sort through the new posts like the message boards are - also, since your upgrade, now it doesn't even list the date of the last upload to the album. This is a NECESSITY for my group!

Beth, if you move your mouse over the main photo, you should see the thumbnails "slide" up from the bottom of the main photo so you can navigate to the others. It will hide again when you move your mouse away. When you first load the page, it should be showing.

And that cuts off the photo - not good for a photo group such as mine.

Love the larger picture viewing, but not too keen on losing the "thumbnails" to the scroll bar.

Sorry, folks, but that pop up scroll bar of the photos is NOT user friendly. Sure, you see the one photo but there is nothing there to tell you HOW to view the other photos. There are folks in my meetups who are not good with computers and they will NEVER be able to figure this out. In fact you had me fooled too until I looked at this thread.

Plus the list of albums on the side is just not inviting! Those of us who take meetup photos want people to look in the albums and ADMIRE the photos, not critique them! The albums are important, comments about the photos are NOT important and NOT necessary.

Was not overly thrilled to find I was defaulted to get inundated with emails about photo comments.
You can turn them off folks. - Account /membership and communication.

Hi Joe,

Have you ever addressed the "Reply" situation regarding when a person uses their own mail client to send mail to the meetup group? Currrently, if the receiver clicks "reply" (as we all are in the habit of doing with all emails), it sends the reply to the whole group. There should be a default setting for this. My bet is the majority will set it to send the reply just to the sender.
Thanks.

Sorry that's causing trouble for your Meetup! That's actually how the mailing list works. The default reply-to address is the mailing list, unless you're sending the message through the site as Organizer - in which case replies can be directed to you only.

I've switched a few mailing lists to by approval only, which helps. You may want to try that for now. Or, send a friendly reminder to your members explaining how the mailing works, and to *always* watch the reply-to address on the list carefully! Particularly when you're directing a more personal message to the sender. Eeks.

Thanks,

Andrea

Andrea,
Can we have our meetup group replies set by default to go to the sender? 100% of our members would like it that way. If you'd like I'll have them all email you to confirm.

The default choice for handling replies should be up to the meetup organizer. I suggest you poll your other organizers & you will find many agree.

Thanks,
Joe

There is an easy way to stop the SPAM GENERATOR Mailing List from spamming people.
Turn it off, turn on the messsage board, and forget the Mailing List ever existed. Members van then choose to be emailed with updates from the message board, from individual threads, or whatever their choice is on an individual basis. Admitedly they actually have to visiot your group in order to reply, but that reply does NOT spam everyone, just those who want it to.

I know it would be a great feature if it were perfected, but sadly it is not; until it works in an acceptable way, no group that I have any influence over will use it.

My members would like me to pass on their thanks! They love the bulk upload, and being able to comment on photos posted by others. We have been waiting a long time for this!

Two things we aren't crazy about:

**Not being able to click a single arrow to go through the photos in an album (like we used to)
**Not being able to see when old albums were last updated

Thanks again!
