Hi all,

This week we focused primarily on cleaning up some usability issues and bugs around last week's new photo page release.

Photo Fixes/Tweaks

  • We are adding in a next/prev arrow w/ a counter (i.e. 4 of 36) above the photo
  • We are adding a page which will show all albums in a grid view (if you have more than 5 albums in your group) to make it easier to navigate. You will be able to sort this page by create time or last activity time in the album.
  • We added a link to "See all sizes" which allows you to easily access all sizes of the photo (original down to thumbnail)
  • We fixed a handful of photo related bugs

We also of course fixed bugs relating to other areas of the site, including:

  • Apostrophes are no longer showing up incorrectly in member quotes on group home
  • Can now download member lists in very large groups
  • Fixed grammatical error on upcoming events
  • Fixed some translation-related bugs for the French language
  • Board searches are no longer showing garbled characters
  • If you've provided questions for your members to answer then they rsvp to an event, you will now see their photos when you look at their answers
  • Members who email their organizers to request a refund can now cancel out of the email form
  • Pay with Paypal link now works for new-style URLs
  • The Money section now displays as pending any Amazon Payments refunds that are actually in a pending state
  • Meetup feeds now work for groups with custom URLs
  • Fixed a bug having to do with members who suggest events and then leave the group
  • Streamlined help text on the dues setup page

As always, if you have questions or feedback, let us have it.

Thanks!

Thank you for adding the comment section to the photos and all you have done so far. This was one request I made earlier. It's nice to see how our requests come to live. Thanks again.

It would be nice to have the option to include a video / slideshow into an album as well.

Thanks for the update on fixes for tomorrow!

I just have 1 question, not related to this update, but is there any kinda of est. time frame on an update on Forum View "new posts" icon? Last I knew it was on the "list" to happen, but man it would be nice and useful for those wanting to switch to forum view.

Thanks for all you guys/girls hardwork!

Again, not related, but would certainly like to see a way to send e-mails to certain members of the group without having to send it to all members or by sending numerous individual e-mails.

I asked for this 16 months ago and was told they're working on it.

Amen. This is long overdue.

A checklist with all member's names would make this task so much easier than
sending dozens of individual emails all the time when there is a specific group of
people to correspond with.

I've been asking for slideshow capability in the photo section for about 5 years now.
Any chance of implementing it before I pass away around 2050 or so?

I must have asked 100 times, but when are you going to add the feature whereby when a album is updated, it moves to the top of the list. This is by far the LARGEST issue we have with regards to usability.

Just checked the photo page on one of my groups and though it's working better now
there still are some bugs there.
My laptop is a bit antiquated (Mac OS10.3.9 - Firefox 2.2.20) but the scrollbar seems to be crossing over
on top of other things and then drops down into the comment section.

By the way, the comment section is waaaay too large in my humble opinion. Wastes a lot of otherwise
useable space. Half or 1/3 the size would probably be better.

From my view, I personally like the size of my comment box. One thing I would like to see is the options of font size, bold or not, color, just like the options of the message board. Also, to have it to where if you want to enter to the next line you can without it running all together once it posts to comment on the photo. What I mean is if I want to leave bullet points I can't because it all runs together once the comment is entered.

Sorry to be a pain in the you know what, but is there a way to get the caption part to accept more letters instead of 250 letters and to have the same features as the previous post mentioned?
