I am very concerned about the fact that now everyone can comment on any photo. There are people on Meetup who will happily post all kinds of nasty stuff when they can. And the organizer won't be notified about it unless he / she posted the photo. And if the person who posted the photo has opted out of notifications or doesn't read them, even they wouldn't know about it.most of my complaints about this new photo section have already been voiced in this thread so i just wanted to repeat my suggestion: there needs to be an option where an organizer can choose to be notified of any comments on any pictures in that group. i try to make my groups a safe place for my members & i have to ensure that people aren't insulting each other in the photo comments. i would prefer to disable photo comments in my groups, but a notification, either by email or in the what's new feed would work. |

My mailing list is set to "Allow all members to send messages, but I'll approve messages first" which used to work just fine. Now that I added a custom mailing list address, the message go through without approval. Help!

I use the "Opera" browser and I'm wondering if the problems that still persist are only because of that: 1. I can always open a photo album, but sometimes I am unable to advance to the next picture. I get that little arrow going around in a circle that seems to say "I can't find the next picture". 2. I can never go backward through an album, although there is an arrow there to do that. Once again, I get that cute little arrow going around in a circle. 3. The thumbnail bar definitely needs to be moved down so it doesn't cover the bottom of the currently showing photo. Here are some more suggestions: 1. Allow each organizer to arrange albums in whatever order they wish, as an alternative. I think it's fine to have a default setting, but since we all seem to be all over the board on what we want, maybe we should just have a list of choices that we can pick from, rather than a default. 2. Whenever I load a photo to illustrate what a scheduled photoshoot will be, it always shows up in the last album on the list, even though it's unrelated. Can you give the organizers and assistant organizers a special album to store photos for events that have not yet happened? I love Meetup and I really think you guys are doing a great job of getting us away from our computers. Keep up the good work. |

I just checked and the scrollbar with the thumbnails now disappears when you move the mouse away from the photo. Thank you for fixing this.
Making comments on the photos is still possible though :-( |

THE NEW PHOTO ALBUM LAYOUT **SUCKS**!!!!!
Is it still Meetup's decision to ignore us all and not revert to the old style???because as a paying customer of Meetup I would like to know why changes that I was never consulted on (despite being a member of the Meetup Preview group) are being force on my group? I find it amazing that Meetup can bring in such drastic changes without ANY consultation or it being previewed by the Meetup Preview group and then refusing to put it back when alot of people (Organizers and Members alike) HATE IT - Organizers/members who don't have many photos will not appreciate the damage it is doing to groups who rely on the old-style FUNCTIONING photo albums to run their groups!!! Why do we desperately need comment boxes taking up the whole screen? Why can we only see 2/3rds (IF WE'RE LUCKY) of the images we load up? Why do we want a naff slide-show covering everything up!? Why do we have to scroll up and down all day long to look at everything!????? Why can't we click on an image and have it open in a separate page/zoom image (alot of my members can't even see their Chihuahua dogs in these tiny bloody pictures without a magnifying glass!) Why are my 70+ albums hidden from sight and does it look as if I have 6 or 7 albums???? Why can't Meetup take the hint??? we want a CHOICE!!!! don't thrust these awful changes on us. I could probably add a good few more to this list but quite frankly I'm getting sick of talking to myself on here!!! In just one week Meetup you have turned numerous extremely Pro-Meetup Supportive Organizers into people threatening to take their groups elsewhere (see Preview forum, see Discuss Meetup forums!) - is there some reason you've gone from listening to your PAYING CUSTOMERS' views to just doing whatever you want???? Greg W Hi Greg, Any ETA on this feature yet? This is a HUGE issue for members in my various groups. I switched all my boards to Forums, and am now regretting it ... they are so quiet, they are like tombs. I am seriously considering shutting down my MOG. Thanks, ~Pamela~ |
