Weekly release delayed until Wed, April 15th, 2009

Hi everyone,

We normally do new releases on Tuesday mornings, but since the quality of this release is not where we'd like it to be, we're pushing the release out a day. That means we're not going to do a release on Tuesday morning but will instead do a release Wednesday morning.

We'll post what's in the release Tuesday evening.

Two features that would be great are: 1) unicode support in the email interface (I run a Russian conversation meetup and messages in Russian get garbled) and 2) a way to set the venue for a meetup when automatically scheduling weekly or monthly meetups. Without the ability to add the place for the meetup, the automatic scheduling function is not convenient.

I have a few suggestions:

Under the promote link, having filters. For example, removing groups to only show individuals or vice versa. Also, sorting! If I'm inviting individuals to be able to sort the city they live in for example. This would save a tremendous amount of time!

Also, when inviting individuals, it would be helpful and save a lot of embarrassment if individuals profiles showed that they're already a member from your group, or for the system to remove those profiles automatically. This is helpful once the group starts getting larger and also if people don't have a profile pic.

Also, when inviting people, for there to be a check box to select multiple people at once to invite them. This would be great.

I'll keep posting this message as a reminder until this is fixed.
