Hey everyone!
We’ve got new features for Sponsors and a lot of smaller improvements this week. Take a look ... It’s easier to sponsor Meetup Groups! Meetup Groups with sponsors get all sorts of benefits – from getting a place to meet, discounts on services or products, even money to offset the costs of running the group. And, Meetup Groups help sponsors, too – by promoting their business to active, local members. Meetup HQ wants to make it easier for potential sponsors and Meetup Groups to learn about sponsorship opportunities, so we built a "Sponsor Meetup Groups" section. You can access it from the bottom of all Meetup pages. If you're an organizer, you can read about ways to find a sponsor, promote a sponsor on your group's pages, and learn about the different ways to connect to sponsors. And if you're a sponsor you can learn how Meetup HQ can help you. Check it out! Here are items we’ve fixed:
As well as our usual behind-the-scenes stuff, of course. Take it easy, - Jesse Edited by Viviane on Apr 20, 2009 10:40 PM |

I'm more excited about this than I probably should be.
Does this mean the pop-up box won't magically appear off the side of my screen anymore? |

Hi,
It looks like there is a small text bug on the member profile page. When people join my group, I ask them to fill out 3 profile questions. Their answers to these are available on their group member pages. You can see mine here: http://www.meetup.com... So the bug is that previously, the question was in bold and their answer was not, so it was easy to see what text went with what question. The questions are no longer bold, so (a) it all runs together and (b) it looks like the member wrote the questions themselves. It appears to be tied to having "courier" set as a custom font. I just flipped to "arial" for headlines & boxes, and the questions appeared bold- but when I flipped back to "courier" they de-bolded. Thanks, Wendy |

Hey Wendy! I double checked in firebug and we're still passing a bold font weight to those labels. It's also subtly bold on my PC screen and way bold on my unsmoothed linux box. My guess is it has to do with the fact that courier is such a thin font, that at that size and with all that fancy Mac font smoothing you have, it's a barely noticeable difference. Monospaced fonts definitely have their purposes for the web, but studies have shown that picking proportional fonts makes reading much easier and natural. I'd recommend switching back to Arial if readability is a big issue ;) -Danielle |

Evil monospaced fonts! I'll update to Arial since I like the bolding on the questions.

Is this a bug? My members use to see that they paid their dues and now they can't. Some of the members are upset because of this, is there something wrong or can you help.

Hi Margaret --
Would you mind emailing the name of the member or members who are having problems to support@meetup.com ? That will help us look into this. Doesn't look like a bug so far, but let's investigate further. Thanks, Ana |
