Hi there everyone,

We’ve got an exciting new product launching tomorrow, Tuesday April 28th, as well as our usual list of small improvements. Enjoy!

DRAFT MEETUP EVENTS

Save your progress. One of our most requested features is here! It can take awhile to get all the details right for your Meetup - the venue, uploading a photo, finding the right time, etc. Now you can save your progress as a draft and come back to it later!

Collaborate. Drafts are visible to a Meetup Group's Organizer and Assistant Organizers, but not to members. An organizer of a Meetup Group can start a draft and then have Assistant Organizers contribute - or vice versa.

Use event templates. Have a Meetup format you repeat frequently? Save a draft of the Meetup in your drafts folder and then just hit "Copy" whenever you want to schedule it. Then the original draft stays in your drafts folder.

To use drafts, hit "save as draft" when you are on the "Schedule a Meetup" page. Your drafts are then listed on the "Drafts" tab on the Calendar page (as shown above.)

Here are other fixes for this week:

  • Clarified text when deleting notes
  • Fixed theme color offset for the “Suggest a Meetup” box on group home pages
  • Fixed the inability to click on a mailing list message if it didn’t have a subject, or to approve pending messages with no subject
  • Fixed spellcheck mode sometimes causing things not to save when you schedule a Meetup
  • Improved some error validation on the “Suggest a Meetup” form
  • Clarified our text when registering or logging in to the site
  • Fixed issues with viewing entire waiting list
  • Fixed breaking topics in Meetup site badges
  • RSVP questions are now carried over to copied Meetup events
  • Fixed text when searching (if no results and we don’t know your location)
  • Added statistics when you embed Meetup topic maps
  • Fixed event locations sometimes not appearing on the Review page after scheduling a Meetup
  • No longer showing sponsorship payments to new organizers if the old group organizer stepped down.
  • Fixed page taking you to a removed event after you had removed it
  • Put back the shortcut to rate past Meetups on group home pages (that we accidentally removed)
  • Fixed adding locations occasionally not saving when scheduling a Meetup

Take it easy,
Jesse

Great feature. One thing I would like to see is a "go live" date, so the meetup is published w/o our help at a certain time. I think the process is still too manual.

LOVE the new draft feature!!! TOTALLY LOVE that you can keep an event there that reoccurs so you don't have to go searching the calendar for the last time to copy it!!love struck

That's great!

I have a couple of features to suggest:

1) Can we add the word "photos!" next to a past meetup on our home page so that people will be aware there are photos there of that event? I think this would be REALLY helpful!

2) Can we organizers receive birthday reminders of our members who have a birthday coming up? Just one birthday reminder about 5 days ahead of time? Or maybe a weekly email to organizers, reminding them of whose birthdays are coming up?

Thanks,

Celeste Hoff
