The topic links don't work on my Firefox 3/XP. All I get is a big colored popup (not the same shape/color as the intended popup.) (They do work using the IEtab/Internet Explorer.)

Hey Chris,

So I poked around on FF3/XP and it opens up and looks just fine for me. Perhaps check your settings? If it's still a problem, send us a screenshot.

It's not a big deal for me, but I'm happy to send you a pic - just tell me where to send.

I don't believe I have changed any settings from defaults on FF - not sure what I would check.

p.s. Looking at it more carefully, it looks like box size is the problem. It stretches far, far to the right - so far that it is off my 2560 px wide screen. I can scroll only so far, and the box extends even beyond my scroll area.

hiya-

this part
To make this process a little easier and more spontaneous, there's now a Meetup icon next to topics in various places on the site. Click on it to see how many Meetup Groups worldwide are in that topic, whether one is near you or to immediately add the topic to your alert list to be notified about.

why are they showing as a different color on my home page?

I have messed with the appearence settings, and I can't see that buff-yellow color anywhere to change.

My magical topic buttons aren't working, either. They're little skinny slivers, and clicking on them just brings up a gray rectangle.

Using OS 10.3.9, with Firefox 2.0.0.20.

I think the funky color denotes topics to which you already subscribe.

Chris, if you're still having this problem, could you clear your cache for me and try again? Let me know if that doesn't solve it.

Hi,

For the invite to Meetup.com is there a way to make it so that it is an invite to join my own particular meetup? I tested it out and it only went to the general meetup.com site.

Thanks

Hi John - the answer is yes! When you click to the invite page:

  • If you were somewhere on the site other than your Meetup group (like here), the invite just talks about joining Meetup.com.
  • If you were on pages within a group, the invite talks about joining that group. The email it sends actually shows the group photo, description, and a sample of tiny member photos.
  • You can also get to the Invite page from the "Promote!" button on the left in your group.

We're working to clarify how this works.

You could also just copy and paste a link to your group into the invite, too.

Thanks,
Jesse

BUG REPORT:
using IE 6, post release-
photo section- photo is very large (which I actually like)
photo is over the left all sizes/etc options
no forward/back arrow
no way to move off the first photo in the album
http://www.meetup.com....

also noted: with this browser, as of today, I longer longer have any bold/italic/insert pic/link to options on the add a reply.

KarenL

don't blame me for the browser, I'm at work. All these things worked here yesterday.

Is the above still an issue/bug? Or has this been resolved? I use Firefox and everything looks fine (including your enjoyable pics & home page, Karen), but I would like to know what to tell my members who use IE 6.

Also, since this release, NOTES no longer show on my personal home page ... is this a new bug or intentional?? Hopefully, just a bug??? confused

Thanks,
~Pamela~
