Hi everyone!

We have updates to two recently released features along with some bug fixes and tweaks:

It's now easier for Organizers and Assistant Organizers to collaborate on drafts with each other!
When an Organizer saves a draft, they can click "Email group Organizers" to let Assistant Organizers in their Meetup Group know about that draft. Same for Assistant Organizers - when one of them saves a draft they can email the other AOs and their Organizer. (Drafts are visible to a Meetup Group's Organizer and Assistant Organizers, but not to members.)

Invite your Yahoo! email contacts and tell your friends about Meetup!
We recently added the ability to share Meetup with your Gmail contacts. Now you can do the same with your Yahoo! contacts.

Yahoo! works like Gmail - for security (we never store your password), we guide you off Meetup briefly so you can log into your email, and then bring you back to Meetup so you can see a list of your contacts and then share Meetup with them. (And rest assured, we never use those email addresses for anything except to send that initial email).

You can try this out by finding the "Invite Friends" link in the footer, in the Promote section of a Meetup Group, and after you RSVP for a Meetup.

Try it out - invite your friends to Meetup!

Other changes this week:

  • Fixed issues with formatting when editing attendance and sharing a venue where the pop-up were overlapping and/or extending past the pop-up box.

  • Fixed intermittent bug where in Firefox 3 on a mac when uploading photos, you’d get messaged that you don’t have Java/Javascript when you actually do.

  • When uploading a new profile photo or uploading an image when adding a sponsor, we now tell you in advance what type of images (.jpg, .gif, .png) we accept.

  • Fixed bug where if you went and edited a venue via “Your Places” in Group Settings and your Meetup Group is themed, saving your edits and returning to “Your Places” didn’t show the theme.

  • Fixed bug where when viewing a venue details page from the group setting’s page in Firefox3/IE7 and IE8, the left navigation bar blocked the left part of the venue’s info.

  • Fixed a bug in the new greetings email: the sender's email notification was missing a link for the url for reporting inappropriate greetings.

Thanks,
Viviane.

PS. We'd love to hear your feedback on this week's release on this thread. If you have suggestions, please post them in the Suggestions Forum. Thanks!

agreed, I like the idea of this. Some events cross days, making two or more events sucks. 1 event with the ability to span days would be useful...

Here's another suggestion.

Categorize RSVPs.

Use the person's titles to control how many people rsvp.

For example, I work with models & photographers
So set categories within an RSVP so that we cn limit the number of photographers and number of models who respond.

Hi Folks,

We appreciate the suggestions, but would *love* it if you wouldn't mind posting them in the main Suggestions Forum too. That's the best place for us to keep track of member support for different features.

This thread is where we'd love to collect feedback about this week's launch (going out shortly...) - stay tuned, and thanks as always!!

Andrea smile

Totally agree, if we are paying for these sites, then like other sites out there surely they could be add free , I could understand it being different if we didn't pay.
