Wow the NEW features looks good! smile

Also, can anyone summarize (Give me links would be best) NEW features not only for Organizers, but members as well?

Like Karen said, you can read all the posts in this forum for the full story, but here's a list of some of the things we launched just in May and June alone that affect members:

  • Invite your Gmail or Yahoo email contacts and tell your friends about Meetup - this can be used by either members or Organizers.
  • Less "Site down" time when we launch new features.
  • Tag people in photos in your groups!
  • More easily add topics to your interests, so members can hear about new Meetup Groups that start near them.
  • Fixed map view for venues and event tickets.
  • Meetup HQ is waiving additional Meetup fees on Amazon Payments transactions indefinitely.
  • Lots of other bugs.

Organizers - keep your members updated and let them know about our features! :)

I agree with you on "Copy this Meetup"working across different Meetup Groups not just within one specific one.

I also organize 5 Meetup groups and co-organize 2 others and it would be so helpful when I am scheduling the Pet Therapy session that involves 3 of my groups to be able to do it once and then copy to the others.

What a time saver that would be.

I'd love to have a "Copy this Meeting" option that work across Meetup groups. For example, I am the assistant-organizer on 4 different Meetup groups, and sometimes we like to do cooperative events. If the organizer posts the event in one group, it'd be great if I could go to that entry, click a "Copy this Meeting" button which pops up a drag-down menu listing all my Meetup groups (or at least the ones I'm an organizer or assistant on) so that I can click on the group I want the meeting copied to, and just like that have it "paste" to that other meetup's calendar. Rather than having to copy everything by hand from one Meetup to the other.

The "event across multiple meetup groups" problem is one I've run into more than a few times myself - does anyone know if there's already a thread or two started somewhere about this, or discussion around a future release to address that dilemma?

This is a BIG issue for me also. I set up hikes which I open identically in 2 meetup groups. Wish I could do it once then indicate other meet up groups to duplicate this on. Ditto for the subsequent emails

As people have mentioned, please check out our Suggestions Forum where all this stuff is being discussed! But some quick responses:

Johanna - you can do this now, but only for one recurring event. But you'll be happy to hear that we ARE working on a more robust tool for this - my teammates are hard at work as we speak (figuratively; it's Saturday.) I can't promise a date, but we're super eager to finish it up. Wish us luck.

I'd love to have a "Copy this Meeting" option that work across Meetup groups. ...

Jayne - That's a great idea that has come up before. But it's not on our to-do list yet. Hopefully soon.

Thanks,
Jesse

Some meetup "places" don't have bona fide addresses, but are still very real places. The fact that a FULL address is required to enter a new meetup place is annoying and frustrating.

I saw that Meetup said there is a new "easy" button to add photos to the event description, but as far as I can tell, you san still only have ONE photo for your event description. I'd like to have an option to have two photos for each event description. Is that possible?

Celeste, when you go to schedule an event, there's a small Insert Image button just to the right of the numbered list button (1...2...3). This will let you put in the URL for any image currently live on the website.

Hope this helps!

Jenn's right, and to add to that, there is now a link next to each photo in your Meetup Group's photo album, which says "All Sizes". Clicking on that will give you the URLs for various sizes of that picture. Copy and Paste any URL into your event description. This is also handy to add photos to emails, too.
