Hi, there, performers, artists, guitarists and troubadours!

This group has been established to promote the Open Mic Night that happens every Wednesday at Boca Grande on Washington Street in Newport/Jersey City. There is no cover, and everyone is welcome to come and sign up to perform. It is intentionally a friendly, supportive environment without the attitude that infects some other open mic nights.

Generally, performers are allowed 3-4 songs before moving to the next person. Once the list is finished, performers are welcome to come up for additional songs.

The evening is run by Nick Ciavatta from frigginfabulousradio.com, and welcomes all genres. The venue owner Keith is a musician himself, and wants to provide a great place for artists to connect and perform.

To get here from the city:

Your best bet is to take the PATH. From 33rd, 23rd, 14th, 9th, or Christoper St. stations, board the Journal Square train (yellow lights will be on the front of the train, JSQ will be lit on the sides above the doors), and ride to the Pavonia/Newport station. It's the stop right after Christopher St. Exit the station to the left, and you'll be facing Washington Blvd. Go right on Washington Bl. for about a block and a half, and Boca Grande will be right there on the right side!

From WTC, take the Hoboken PATH train (green lights on the front), and go two stops to Pavonia/Newport. Same directions as above when you exit the station.
