You need to get out sometime, right? Get together with fellow San Diego geeks to hang out and watch things burn. It's just a casual get-together for talk and fellowship, with drinks (soft drinks only -- it's the law -- sorry about that) and chips.
Who should come:
Anybody into Web 2.0, the technology industry, IT, Twitter, blogging, Facebook, MySpace, social networks, science fiction, fantasy, RPGs, MMOs, comics, manga, anime, Comic-Con, Dr. Who, Star Trek, or anybody who likes spending time with people who are into those things.
The event is sponsored by InformationWeek and Lifehacker, and hosted by InformationWeek Executive Editor Mitch Wagner, and Lifehacker Editor Gina Trapani.
Logistics: Here's the spot on Google Maps.
http://maps.google.co...
Take Mission Bay Drive north past the Hilton. Take the first entrance on the left after the Hilton (it's actually the second left turn, but the first is a one-way do-not-enter). Drive south through the parking lots until you're on the southmost part of the bay. Park and walkl over. We'll meet at the green-roofed building at 5 (it's actually toilets, but we won't think about that), and then find a bonfire pit. Feel free to arrive later. If you have difficulty finding us, stand near that green-roofed building and call me, Mitch Wagner, on my cell, (213) 514-5597, and I'll come by and find you.
Afterward, some of us will be going out for TechKaraoke @ O'Connell's. Details here:
