Thanks Sheila. What a shame! it was my suggestion and I was so looking forwrd to a good discussion! Sadly I can't make next week as I am on holiday and so too is Charlotte. See you all in September!

I am really sorry, people, but the Meetup tonight to discuss Room by Emma D is postponed to next week. This is the 1st time I've ever cancelled in 3 years - owing to a dodgy cook at the rainy barbecue I attended yesterday, I am unwell - just developed symptoms in the last 1-2 hrs. Since the party was to watch poor old Andy Murray despatch old Roger F, it could be said to have been less than successful. And it's the beginning of my week off. 
I hope those of you who were coming tonight enjoyed Room and can make it for next week - Monday night, 7pm, Slug and Lettuce, as per usual. Those of you members who couldn't make tonight but can come next week are welcome to RSVP - Room is a very interesting read and should give us a lively discussion.
Who knows - if the sun shines next week, we could even sit out on the pub terrace. I live in hope..... you've got to be an optimist to survive a British summer like this! 
Please reply to this e-mail if you were down to come tonight, or I shall worry about you sitting in the pub with your book like Jimmy-no-mates - Clive, Curious Cat, Gail, Lanna, Ana, Jo and Anila - that's you guys - l hope to see you all there next week.
