Picnic & Book Release - Saturday 25th June 12pm

Apparently it is tradition for the annual Christmas party of The London Bookcrossing Meetup Group to take the form of a picnic in the summer! To relieve pressure on the groaning shelves at the Camel and Artichoke this will be combined with a mass book release.

Meet up at the Camel and Artichoke (121 Lower Marsh, SE1 7AE) for bagging up books ready for release and a drink from 12. Wander along the South Bank releasing books from around 12.30 and picnic from around 2pm.

I shall be at the pub and the book release but may not be able to stay for the picnic.

"This is the now traditional annual Christmas Picnic (I know – but have you ever tried a picnic on DECEMBER 26?) and we will be meeting in the Camel and Artichoke at about 12 and leaving at round about 12:30.

The plan is then to stroll along the South Bank giving away / releasing books and to end up on the green area near Gabriel's Wharf and the London Eye at (VERY approximately) 2:00. If you have books that you want to release then bring them along but the aim is also to release books from the groaning OBCZ shelves in the Camel and Artichoke (so if you can bring clear plastic bags or release bags this would be useful).

Bring food, drink and, if you wish to, a blanket to sit on. Family, friends, Bibliophiles, etc, etc are all welcome.

If it rains there are plenty of nice pubs and cafes in the area where we can take shelter.

Hope to see you all there."
