Austin Book Workers - High tech 'Espresso Book Machine'
WE will have a chance to see the EBM, espresso book machine, or burnt orange machine, live in action. The machine downloads, prints, and binds an individual book in 4 minutes in library quality. As this can be done with / without covers, we see some interesting opportunities opening up here for making individual covers on books.
We meet at 6.30 on Thursday, I still need to confirm the place, but we're set!

jeromeEvent HostPast-PresidentWe all admired this wonder of popular mechanics: Bob, the Espresso Book Machine. I thought robots would look different, more like 3CPO. Bob is also the only one of its kind in Texas! I am going to try it out with a fat book I am anxious to see in black and white with 4 color perfect bound covers. Laissez le bon livre rouler! -
