thanks for sending this.  i will try to vote every 24 hours.  i might use a few different books, but for this first one I said that Where the Sidewalk Ends was the one that got me hooked, but now that i think about it, it might have been green eggs and ham, too!

My book was "Where the Red Fern Grows".  Although, truth be told, my mom started me out on Dr. Suess "Green Eggs and Ham".  Make your vote count (see below)

The "What Book Got You Hooked?" campaign is being sponsored by the First Book National Book Bank. The campaign asks individuals to vote for the book that got them "hooked" on reading as a child.

50,000 FREE, NEW CHILDREN'S BOOKS will be sent to the state casting the most votes during the campaign which ends on September 15, 2008.

To participate, just log on to the "What Book Got You Hooked?" Web site at http://www2.firstbook.org/whatbook/, indicate your favorite book and cast a vote for Nebraska . You may vote once every 24 hours.

Nebraska is currently in third place.  PLEASE vote every day and pass it on to all of your friends!

A Note from First Book-Union College :

"I just found out that Nebraska finished a close second to Oklahoma in last year's  campaign - narrowly missing out on valuable books for Nebraska children. As of today (Aug 25), we're No. 2 again--so please help us "go for the gold!"

Please help with this effort by passing the word.  Thanks a million . . . well, 50,000!"
