Hi All: All the responses I received said people liked the idea of Five Points and most wanted to keep the exchange a book exchange (not just a gift exchange). So, since democracy rules in this club that's the plan! :)

Who: Us!
What: Our annual holiday soiree
Where: Five Points restaurant (in the sunroom off the bar)
Why: Because it's nice to get together and just socialize, not to mention the holidays make me happy.
When: Sunday December 15th at 6:30pm
What Else: We do two things every year:

1) If you feel so inclined: you can bring a young adult book for a teenager at The Children's Home. They generally request presents for the older children (because people tend to donate items for the younger kids). The Children's Home specifies the book be unwrapped so they know what it is.

2) Those who wish to participate bring a book they love to exchange amongst ourselves. It can be old, new, paperback, hardback, anything you want. The only criteria is you must love it, it should be one of those books that moves you and you want everyone you know to read it so you can talk about it with them.

We will be choosing the next 4-6 books (or more) that night so bring some ideas! Something worthy of our wonderful group of women! :)

Finally, if you haven't started it, this is my invitation to begin Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace. It's a big one!

Please RSVP so I can give the restaurant an accurate headcount. Thanks and I hope to see you there!

HI everyone! just confirming the RSVP #. I will ask the restaurant to set out a few extra chairs in case someone who didn't RSVP shows up, but I'd like to give them a close a # as possible, so please, if you're coming make sure to RSVP. Thanks all!

My mom fell and broke her hip. I am with her in SC and cannot attend the party. So sorry to miss the event and look forward to seeing the book choices for the coming months.
Happy holidays to all. Travel safely.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
