I saw on Meetup that you hold a popular Book Club at The Lass and wondered whether you might be interested in commenting on a piece I'm doing. Basically an academic at the University of Manchester (Dr Parvathi Kumaraswami) has come forward saying that Cuba is one of the world's most literary countries - I'd really like a view on this from someone who likes books but isn't necessarily an academic. Would you or someone else from the book club be willing to chat to me about this? Just want to know whether you've read any Cuban lit, what you think of it, how it compares to Western, maybe a top Cuban book(s) you would recommend to people looking to give it a try?
Thanks - and I look forward to hearing from you soon. If you're up for this I can give you a ring or whiz me over a response via email if that's easier. The book club will get a mention in the article of course.
