RE: [bookclub-1364] tonight's meetup

Dear all,

I have just return to the office in the Lass and seen the emails sent regarding last night’s book club.  First of all, apologies for the mix up.  Having spoken with the staff concerned, it appears they were under the misguided impression that the night was still being organised by Mags (who they know by sight) and given she had not arrived, that the night was off.  They have made the point, which I think is fair that if you guys could agree a nominated contact for us that can make themselves known to the staff on arrival, we can avoid similar mix-ups in the future and ensure things go without a hitch.

I will also make sure that you receive full use of the Snug as suggested, which I assumed you did get.  I have also reminded all supervisors of this, so hope things will go smoother in the future.

Kind regards

Gareth

Hi Jean-Yves,

I'm sorry for the confusion caused; Akshat also mentioned that he’d been told that the meeting was off.  I had assurances from the Lass to say we could continue as normal despite the bank holiday so I don't know why the bar staff informed you otherwise.  I've e-mail them to find out why this happened despite their assurances and I'll let everyone know what they said.

I've also enquired about the reservation of the Snug as it appears that even though we're increasing in number we seem to be limited to one table in the room, I've asked them to clarify if they can limit the whole Snug to book club members only from 7:15 onwards.

We have to remember that we’re indebted to the Lass for allowing us to use their venue, it’s a nice friendly place and I’m sure they’ll do their best to accommodate our needs.

Thanks,

Stuart

Hi,
I am Jean-Yves.  I did turn up today at 7.30, but the waitresses at the Lass told me that the Book club was not on today.  I believed them and walked away pretty much disappointed.  Did you go there?  How come these women told me it wasn't on?
