Announcing a new Meetup for One Drink Minimum Book Club of Princeton!
What: Jane Austen Field Trip
When: January 24,[masked]:00 PM
The Morgan Library
225 Madison Avenue at East 36 Street
New York, NY 10016
The Morgan Library in NYC is currently having a Jane Austen exhibit, called A Woman's Wit: Jane Austen's Life and Legacy
. For more information please visit www.themorgan.org
On Sunday, January 24th they are having a showing of the 1940 film version of Pride and Prejudice
, starring Lawrence Olivier. The movie is free with admission to the exhibit, which is $12. The movie starts at 2:00, so I figured we could have lunch and discuss her books somewhere nearby around 12:00 and go to exhibit for about an hour before the movie (the library is open until 6:00 PM so we can also go back to the exhibit after the movie if we run short on time).
There is a 10:39 AM train that leaves from Princeton Junction and gets into Penn Station at 11:49. Please drop me a line if you would like to meet at the station and ride in together. I will post the meeting place for lunch when we get a little closer for those of you who would like to meet up in the city. The Morgan Library is about a 10-15 minute walk from Penn Station (225 Madison Ave at 36th St.).
If you plan to attend I ask that you please stay on top of your RSVP since this meetup requires travel and coordination. If you find that you cannot attend, please change your RSVP to no.
For the purpose of discussion I would suggest reading Pride and Prejudice if you are not already familiar with the story.
This should be a really fun day!
