OK, back to a book that there are a zillion copies at the local Library.

And as Im getting a ton of good feedback about toggling back and forth between new fiction and "classics" it is reach back into the pasts turn.
Death Comes for the Archbishop is a 1927 novel by Willa Cather. It concerns the attempts of a Catholic bishop and a priest to establish a diocese in New Mexico Territory.

The novel was included on Time's 100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005 and Modern Library's list of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century.

I enjoy it 1) as I found a positive portrayal of religious men without getting "preachy" interesting, 2) The experimental nature of the novel unique and 3) how Cather made the Southwest an actual character in the book.

300pp and a good read.
