Well we are finally going to do it. Yep, a Cormac McCarthy novel. This particular McCarthy book was a bestseller back in 1992 and won the U.S. National Book Award. It is also the first of McCarthy's "Border Trilogy.

More importantly it was known as McCarthy's shift into romanticism as opposed to his earlier and bleaker work.

This is just my view, but the work before this book reminds me a lot of Faulkner-and this book is a significant shift and is more reminiscent of Hemmingway. Mostly because of the use of Syntax, sentence structure and punctuation.

Regardless, I'm glad we are finally reading a McCarthy.

Dont forget to send any suggestions you have for Non-Fiction January
