While this one was not from an international author, I enjoyed it greatly and I highly recommend it. It's called "Evening In The Palace Of Reason" (Bach meets Frederick the Great in the Age of Enlightenment) by James R. Gaines.
There are many. Among them are Canetti, Kafka, Marquez, Llosa, Neruda, Borges, Pamuk, Hemingway and Hesse.
My favorite place in the city is the Harvard Bookstore.
I am a very slow, but devout reader. I read authors from all over the world so that I can travel even as I am stationary.
