2666 by Roberto Bolano. Odd mixture of literary life storyline (the search for a reclusive writer and the scholars who are looking) and addressing the murders in Juarez, a neglected topic. Lovely writing. Warning: very long book. But I did it.
Oh jeez not fair. Fond of Peter Carey. Have read lots of Latin American fiction. College crush on Cortazar and the friend who introduced me to his work. Bolano has debt to Cortazar but is not a copy.
Combination geek programmer and artsy fartsy type.
Love to read internatonal writers, like to meet people, like to get book suggestons.
