_______________________________________________________________________________

Hello all,

Once again, in line with Glasgow Meetup tradition, we're having a grand yearend bash, a combined event with the leading Meetup Groups in the West of Scotland.

We all meet for a great evening of fun and frolic; you will get to meet folk from the other meetup groups and make some new friends. This event was a resounding success the last two years, with more than 60 people from more than 9 different meetups groups attending.

Get dressed for a great night to mark the end of 2009 the meetup way! Bring your friends too. Do not miss this.

cheers
Ash

FAQ:

1. Do people just turn up or...?
Yes, you have to simply turn up. Since we are expecting large numbers, we are not booking tables but will occupy the entire central area of the pub.

2. Will there be anything to eat at the venue?
Yes, standard pub fayre is available and nibbles and drinks can be ordered all night.

3. Is there any fee for attending this event?
No. But just buy your own drinks and food.

4. How long will the meetup last?
The last two years this lasted all evening, a few people came in later. Some folk 'hopped on, hopped off' and hopped back on later!

5. How will I recognize the group?
We will be the largest (and most cheerful!) group occupying the central portion of the pub - standing and walking about to ensure mingling. If you have any special needs, send me an email.

6. If there are people from several meetup groups, how will I get to meet the others?
We will come up with ways of encouraging mingling - such as introductions or such - in a completely friendly, non-coercive manner of course. You are encouraged to come in with an open mind willing to meet other people from the meetup community.

How to get there:

From Glasgow Central, walk northward on Hope Street to find Bothwell street to your left. Go straight up Bothwell street and you'll spot two huge clocks hanging off a building - the Scottish legal assurance. The pub is just below the one farther away.
