The location of this meetup will be Espresso Roma on Hopkins St in Berkeley. For this meeting we will be discussing chapters 1-3 of The Self Beyond Itself by Heidi M. Ravven, ISBN[masked]-537.

We can also share thoughts & ideas about various other books we have read in the field of cognitive science and other related disciplines (such as evolutionary psychology or neuroscience). I look forward to meeting and discussing cognitive science with you!

I'm reading it now (somewhat cursorily, as it's quite long). I'll be interested in a report of how you discuss this, as it goes beyond cog sci facts and into their application to ethics. Very interdisciplinary!

Even though there were only 5 of us, this was one of the best discussions yet. I enjoyed it very much.

MindGames is on ABC which on my TV is channel 7 KGO. It is on Tuesday nights at 10:00. If you love cognitive science you might enjoy the show.

A couple months age we talked about the possibility of reading The Self Beyond Itself: An Alternative History of Ethics, the New Brain Sciences, and the Myth of Free Will by Heidi M. Ravven. Are we still going with that?

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
