What authors, books define you, make you think, make you laugh?

I very much enjoyed reading The Temple of My Familiar by Alice Walker. Another good one was Chocolat by Joanne Harris. I've read several books that made me think, an example is The Meme Machine by Susan Blackmore. Two from Richard Dawkins were The Selfish Gene and River Out Of Eden. I'm very much interested in the way beliefs affect how people think about themselves and each other. Our assumptions are often funny if we stand back to view them.

What do you hope to get out of the club?

I'd love to meet people who love to share ideas and perspectives and who love to laugh. We are all in this together, we may as well have fun with it.

Describe a successful discussion.

I love a discussion where people feel safe to say whatever they have to say respectfully. There is a unique perspective for every person and it's interesting to hear people try to describe their own, often shifting world views.

Are you a talker? Listener? Icebreaker? All or noneof the above?

All of the above.
