We're going to try meeting at a restaurant for the Blind Assassin meeting this Tuesday. I'm really hoping that we can swing this because I'd love to make food and drink a regular thing while we're chatting about some book or another. The only reason that we haven't been doing this is regularly because it is *tough* to plan reservations without knowing how many people will show. Right at the moment there are about a bazillion RSVP's for The Blind Assassin, but I know that way fewer than a bazillion will actually show (I'm guessing about 15). Please, please, please take a moment right now to click the link and update your RSVP:Cambridge Readers: The Blind Assass?
If you're unsure, use the "maybe" option.
OK, so we'll meet at Tavern in the Square (the one near Central; there's also one near Porter, but that would be the wrong one to go to). They have a bit of a separate room that it looks like we'll be able to use, but just either look for me with the book prominently displayed or say that you're with "Nick" or the "Book Club" and it will all work out. The place has decent pub food (here's their website)
and, of course, alcohol. If you're driving, the meters around there stop at 6 and you can usually find parking close by on Mass Ave. or Bishop Allen.
